There are many Festivals and Events throughout The Glens of Antrim, from the southern shores of Glenarm to the northern bay of Ballycastle. Many of these are iconic and unique to The Glens such as the Dalriada Festival and Highland Games in Glenarm, Heart of The Glens Festival in Cushendall the Ould Lammas Fair in Ballycastle and the Feis na nGleann which is one of the oldest festivals in Ireland. These Festivals are about celebrating our heritage and bringing the local communities together for a bit of craic and also to encourage visitors from outside The Glens to come and enjoy the culture and traditions of The Glens.
In order to ensure that there is a long lasting legacy of our Heritage within The Glens the Heart of The Glens Landscape Partnership Scheme have released a funding application form that enables local community groups, individuals or festival groups to apply for funding for new and innovative ways to celebrate our heritage. The aims of this funding is to allow the local people of The Glens and tourists to connect with the landscape in a more meaningful way, enhance their experience of the area and encourage them to stay longer.
